😁 Katia’s project, The Dermal Abyss, won the Interactive Innovation Award at the South by Southwest Conference in 2018. The Dermal Abyss replaced tattoo ink with biosensors that change colors in response to changes in the person’s metabolism.

Katia creates beauty technology — electronics embedded into cosmetics that can be applied directly to one’s skin, fingernails, and hair — to transform the body’s surface into an interactive platform.
